Patterns

As i have chosen to use vectors on my HG Wells brief i looked at other print based material which used pattern. I found this style was used on booklets/leaflets, menus, craft paper, tickets and perfume testing cards.

1. The booklet that i got from the Light in Leeds had vector shapes on their and consistently throughout their publication in all different shapes and sizes. The booklet was printed in one colour on a recycled paper stock. The design works well on the paper stock and this would have been cheap to produce.

2.The Faversham menu in Leeds, again would have been cheap to print as it uses one colour. As it was in black it would have been even cheaper to print. The menu was printed on a vibrant yellow matt paper stock which makes this really stand out because of the high contrast.

3.Craft paper made from a repeated vector shapes all the same size and same pattern executed with different shades of colour. Colours work well together which i think is important.

4. Above, patterned perfume testing card using various sizes of vector shapes. This shows how repeated patterns/vectors work well on small scale as well as large scale.
Below, ticket design. The repeated pattern was printed on a metallic stock in two colours. The vibrancy of the colour has been lost a little because of the stock it has been printed on, however it works quiet nicely for what the ticket was for as this was for an event at a night club.
