Pentagram designed this identity for the 'MAD museum of arts and design' in Manhattan. The idea behind the logo was generated by using the shape of the building architecture which was more of less square which sat on the most prominant circle in Manhattan. The typeface was created with squares and circles.
The identity has worked very well over a range of material. My favourite has to be the promotional carriers you get when you purchase something. The design has been printed on clear stock which really works well.
